Voice and storefront pages stay ad-free for all customers. Cannabis sponsored placements are opt-in — off by default, configurable in /settings, and clearly labeled when active.
What dispensary operators ask first.
Will Gabby ever pretend to be a human?
No. If a customer asks, she identifies as the store’s AI assistant. She also captures their name and number, so the conversation can hand off to a real budtender when needed.
Can Gabby actually screen for age?
Yes. Before she discusses specific products, she asks for date of birth and logs the response with a timestamp. The trail exports as a single PDF when an inspector asks. We treat that screening as the hard gate — she won’t name a product without it.
What if she recommends an out-of-stock product?
She can’t. Gabby reads from your live POS menu. If it’s not on tonight’s menu, it doesn’t exist as far as she’s concerned — she’ll either suggest the closest in-stock alternative or take a callback request.
What about state-specific dose limits?
Per-transaction caps vary by state and by customer status (medical vs adult use). We respect them in both the voice flow and the in-store shopper. The store configures the rule set once during onboarding; we keep it current as states update.
Is BevTek SOC2 / HIPAA compliant?
We’re SOC2 in process. HIPAA isn’t typically required for adult-use retail, but we treat medical card data with healthcare-grade handling. Happy to share the data-flow doc on request.
Will Gabby talk about federal cannabis law?
She stays in her lane. She handles product, dosing, hours, and pickup logistics. Federal policy questions get routed to a human — we don’t want her to be the source of a customer’s legal opinion.
How long is setup?
Most cannabis shops are live in about 72 hours. Cannabis POS integration + dose-rule configuration can add a day or two — once those are done, voice provisioning and staff onboarding are quick.
Can I cancel?
Any time. No annual contracts. If it’s not earning back the subscription in the first 30 days, we refund the month.
